Memory Verse Monday #29

It is good to be reminded of the truth in this verse this week...

Philippians 4:19-20 (The Message)
You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus. Our God and Father abounds in glory that just pours out into eternity. Yes.

God will supply generously --- for physical needs, for practical needs! Thank you God!

Girlfriends...

Today I had lunch with two girlfriends... one I've known for a while now, another I've known for just under two years. No matter how much time (or how little time) I've known these ladies, I've always been comfortable with their friendships. It feels like these friendships have always been a part of my life.

Over lunch, we got talking about seasons in our lives --- specifically how some friendships are only meant to be for a season... I myself have a few of those friendships!

I am indeed thankful for this season of friendship with these two. I sure do hope that God will allow us to stay as good friends for a lifetime.

"Friends love through all kinds of weather..."
---Proverbs 17:17 (The Message)

Memory Verse Monday #28

This week I am feeling physically tired. There is a lot going on and it seems like I'm always playing catch-up with everything these days. So, this is the promise I am claiming this week...

Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

An eye-opener, an encouragement, a promise!

Memory Verse Monday #27

Wow! It's been a busy summer... it seems to me that my weekly Memory Verse Monday posts will be the only updates to this blog for now. These posts summarize the week ahead though, so it's OK!

Well, why is our summer soooo busy? One word --- IGNITION!!! This week, we have over 100 children on site... that is just awesome. One verse from the Bible keeps coming to mind as I sign-in children each morning and seeing their innocence inspite of what their families might be going through at home, and it is the verse from...

Mark 10:14 (NLT)
Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.

May we see with Jesus' eyes; may our hearts be broken by the things that break His; may we be true to our church's vision --- to be an indispensable channel of hope and help to the families of Pickering, Durham Region and beyond. Help us, God!

Memory Verse Monday #26

This week is the start of EIGHT weeks of Summer Sports Camp that our church is running as a gift to our community. We have been overwhelmed by the response! It is just awesome... children are coming from all walks of life; parents are truly grateful; we are having an impact in this community!!!

I am truly starting to see that as a church, the Body of Christ, all we need to do is to obey Him (to give ourselves away for His work) and He will take care of the rest. This verse comes to mind...

Malachi 3:10 (NIV)
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

It is soooo awesome to see God at work --- I am ready to see more of it!!!
